It is with a heavy heart that I write to you about the loss of our 05’ brother, Thomas J. Costello. As many of you know, “TJ” collapsed while on his daily lunch time run on Tuesday, 08 July 2025. The medical examiner has confirmed he suffered a severe heart attack.
TJ leaves behind his wife Julia, and three amazing children Claira (13), Harper (15) and Finley (18) who is currently a plebe in the Class of ‘29 as well as many other family and friends. He will be greatly missed by many.
As we deal with this tremendous loss, we are hoping to show extended support for our brother and his family. TJ was immensely proud to be part of the Navy Football Brotherhood. He was the heart and soul of the ‘05 Inside Backer Corps.
Memorial service arrangements are ongoing. We will pass details as they develop.
We anticipate a wave of support to come from his loss, in the meantime, we hope the Brotherhood can kickstart the initial fundraising to help get the family through this trying time. Please consider donating through one of the methods above to the non-profit “Navy Football Brotherhood” where 100% of the funds will go to the family. Please keep the Costello family in your thoughts and prayers.
The Navy Football Brotherhood, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization, is facilitating donations, ensuring that 100% of your contribution goes directly to the Costello family. Contributions are tax-deductible; please consult your tax advisor for guidance on documenting your support.
Thank you for honoring T.J.'s legacy and standing with his family in their time of need.
